Opening Show for Artemis Gallery to Benefit Mount Desert Makerspace
May 23, 2022
Artemis Gallery is kicking off its 11th year in business and 10th year tucked into a converted home at 1 Old Firehouse Lane in Northeast Harbor with an opening reception on May 26th. The first show of the 2022 season will feature works by five different artists:
The collection is full of classic coastal Maine imagery, digital reinterpretations of Audubon’s Birds of America, and bold floral prints. Running through June 16th, a portion of the sales from the show will benefit the Mount Desert Makerspace. “In continuing our support of local nonprofits over the past few years we feel it is more important than ever to give to organizations that provide services to the wellbeing of our community,” said gallery founder and director, Deirdre Swords. “The organizations we have chosen this year range from arts and education to providing food and resources. The Makerspace will be a great addition to the Northeast Harbor community, year-round and summer. We are very much looking forward to seeing it become a reality!”
The opening reception for the season’s first show will be from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on May 26th.
