Working in concert with the Executive Director and staff, the Development Committee, and Board leadership, the Director of Development will lead the organization and its volunteers in building a major gifts program and implementing a comprehensive annual fundraising plan.

As part of the senior management team, the Director of Finance is responsible for financial oversight and serves as the Treasurer of the Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors for Camp Beech Cliff MDI and CBC Holdings. Reporting to CBC’s President/Executive Director, the Director of Finance participates in developing CBC’s overall policies, objectives, and goals as related to the financial well-being and long-term financial health of the organization’s operation. This individual provides leadership of CBC’s accounting systems, financial analysis, internal controls management, annual external audit, and contractual arrangements.

The Greenhouse & Nursery Manager oversees the plant production operation and landscape maintenance at McAlpin Farm. McAlpin Farm is comprised of a 6,000 sq. ft. greenhouse facility, a one-acre in-ground nursery field, container storage, cold frames, a lath house, and storage buildings. The McAlpin Farm plant production operation supports the Land & Garden Preserve three historic gardens and 1000+ acres of natural lands and supports local partnerships when space and time allows. The manager is an active, working supervisor who oversees a team of content specialists, volunteers, and seasonal staff.

The Gardener plays a crucial role in maintaining the unique landscape of the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Garden (Abby Garden) and its surrounding landscapes. You will collaborate with other staff members on various projects throughout the Preserve. Reporting to the Abby Garden Manager, this 9-month (1560 hours/year) position has a full benefit package. Weekend shifts during the Abby Garden’s nine-week visitor season and winter property checks may be required.

Job Requirements: The Public Works Department of the Town of Mount Desert has the following full-time position open and will be accepting applications until the position is filled. Application forms can be obtained by contacting the Town Office at 276-5531 and requesting one. The starting rate of pay for the position is $30.488 per hour increasing to $31.93 after successful completion of the mandatory probationary period. In addition, the Town also offers an excellent benefits package. The minimum age requirement for the position is 18 years of age and possession of a valid class B driver’s license is required. Must hold a Maine state inspection license or ability to obtain one within 6 months. If the successful applicant does not currently hold a class B driver’s license, they will have six months from date of hire to obtain one. For Mount Desert Nursing Association patients assigned to his/her care, and in accordance with standards of practice, the Registered Community Health Nurse (RN) is responsible for agency patient initial and on-going assessments. He/she works with the patient in the development and implementation of the plan of care and evaluates its effectiveness. The CHN reports to the Director of Clinical Services or Clinical Supervisor as assigned and supervises the Home Health Aides and LPNs as assigned to their clinical patients.
The MDNA currently has one non-benefit, non-exempt, 16-hour a week position in Northeast Harbor, Maine.
Wage: Commensurate with experience.
